I’ve featured Death Cab for Cutie before, twice actually counting the Christmas song, so this may seem like overkill, but it’s for a good reason. “The New Year” is the first song on their breakthrough album Transatlanticism. The chorus goes “So this is the New Year. And I don’t feel any different.” That kind of sums up how I’ve always felt about the New Year. Transatlanticism is a great album and easily my favorite of theirs, and I couldn’t think of a better tune to ring in 2008. Death Cab for Cutie - "The New Year"
